Have you always wanted to work with historic trains and contribute to the preservation of valuable heritage? At Stoomtrein Maldegem-Eeklo, you’ll have the chance to work with unique steam and diesel trains alongside a dedicated and friendly team of volunteers.
Whether you’re technically skilled or love welcoming visitors, there’s always a place for you here.

As a volunteer, you get the chance to try out different roles – from operating historic locomotives to working on restoration projects. You can take training courses for positions like shunter, train guard, fireman/engineer on a steam locomotive, station master, diesel train driver, and many more!
Every day bring new opportunities to learn something new and help preserve our railway heritage.
